Television
Despite its broad and international position on the media market, Berengar Pfahl Film GmbH has always had a special affinity for television productions. Since the early days when Berengar Pfahl contributed to the well-known German children's series "Sendung mit der Maus", they have worked steadily and successfully on TV productions. Authentic stories and a close emotional relation to the characters convinced both reviewers and the audience. Berengar Pfahl does not use frantic action scenes in rapid succession in order to tell his stories. Instead, the dramatic moments of his films take place within the figures themselves. This guiding principle allows the characters with all their shortcomings and dreams to evolve authentically. And this has also become the trademark of Berengar Pfahl Film.
In 1976, Berengar produced his prize-winning multi-part TV movie "Britta", which can be considered a precursor for exceptional reality productions in terms of concept, realization and the subject matter. Ever since then the producer has been looking for new and innovative formats that can emotionally engage audiences.
In the faster paced, more complex and ephemeral media world, it is of particular importance to establish havens of calm narrative that audiences can single out from the over-flooded media market and appreciate - points of reference that people can relate to and won't forget.
Berengar Pfahl: "I think everyday life is the most intriguing and touching kind of poetry, because it is about what affects people most."
